How Not to Diet

I've been excited about the new book, "How Not to Diet" by Dr. Michael Greger (see link below) and did a pre-order prior on the audiobook to the 12/10/2019 release date.

The hardcopy was also going to be released, but I couldn't wait for that to be shipped to me (would that be delayed by a day or would it be scheduled to arrive via truck/van some time during the day?)

How excited was I to get my hands (ears) on this new release? So excited that I checked my Audible account a few minutes after midnight last night. AND THERE IT WAS! I downloaded it immediately and then slept in comfort, knowing that I could start it the next morning and listen to it while going to the gym.

Dr. Michael Greger knows his research and was (and is) the most reliable resource for my nutritional medical info after I moved on from Pritikin decades ago.

And like some 'coincidence', as I started checking out his non-profit site, listened to his YouTube videos, and read his first book, "How Not to Die" (I recommend that one as well–it is so AWESOME! Lists all sorts of research an evidence on how to manage a range of diseases like Heart Disease, Cancer, Diabetes, etc ), he cited Pritikin as saving his grandmother's life. When she was 65, she sought medical help was sent home to die with a terminal heart condition. Instead of just welcoming her fate, she came across televised info about Nathan Pritikin and became a live-in patient and went on to making a full recovery. She died at age 96. I would call that a full recovery, wouldn't you?

That was my hook since it was a connection that I could relate to, having successfully implemented Pritikin's plan and maintained it for years until I became pregnant with my first child.
